Could we have just seen the greatest-ever grand final?

I have worked in many pursuits since first entering journalism at The West Australian in January 1973. Nearly 50 years on some of this gathered experience appears in these pages. At a late age, I co-created, with Denis Ewing and John Bowler, The Golden Mail newspaper in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Horse racing dominated my professional life until I discovered politics in 2005. Too late I saw what a political career may have been like? Certainly more successful but not nearly as much fun! – Frank Wright
